Mater Dei: State of the Rat Hospital
09.03.08 (11:45 pm)   [edit]

Mater Dei, Malta's recently built state of the art hospital, or rather state of the rat, has hit the local headlines. A nurse found part of a mouse's head in her salad served by the hospital's caterer.

The caterer said that  the vegetables served were frozen packed in the Netherlands and imported from Belgium. Though patients should consolate themselves with the fact that according to informed sources, they are supplied by a different caterer.

Interestingly enough, the same caterer which supplies food to Mater Dei employees is the same one which is in charge of the University canteen. A University study back in 2005 found out that there was more bacteria on a University Canteen table than on a University toilet seat!

Meanwhile, the caterer involved has been stopped from operating and Mater Dei employees are being given an allowance instead of food.
